Serendipity-Russia was established as a part of an effort to contribute to Russia's transition from "communism" to a stable and prosperous democratic society. Building an American-style home in the City of Vladimir as our in-country facility was the first major step.  This website contains a substantial amount of information concerning our accomplishments and ongoing activities through the American Home.  If you wish additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Fulbright-Hays Group Program Abroad Awards

Fulbright grants

In cooperation with the University of Illinois in 2004 and 2007 and the University of Chicago in 2008, the American Home made all the in-country arrangements and developed substantial materials for three very successful Fulbright-Hays Group Programs Abroad grants.

Click here for more information on these programs.

We are in the process of following up on the success of these trips through the development of a high school video exchange and travel project.

For more information on this initiative, please contact us.

"Perhaps this is Serendipity's greatest gift--facilitating the process by which Americans can peer into another culture, however briefly, and come away with an alternately chilly and snug sense that people everywhere are similar, but also very different--and in ways that can be utterly pleasing and new."

Email Professor Helen Campbell
Department of Business & Management/Department of Criminology, University of Maryland University College-Europe

(Professor Campbell has completed two intensive Russian programs with Serendipity-Russia.)
