Serendipity-Russia was established as a part of an effort to contribute to Russia's transition from "communism" to a stable and prosperous democratic society. Building an American-style home in the City of Vladimir as our in-country facility was the first major step.  This website contains a substantial amount of information concerning our accomplishments and ongoing activities through the American Home.  If you wish additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Fulbright-Hays Group Program Abroad Awards

Three major universities and Serendipity-Russia have been awarded grants totaling $235,000 to date.

Serendipity provided the in-country programs for three Fulbright grants.  The most recent grant was obtained through the University of Chicago Center for East European and Russian/Eurasian Studies. The first two grants were through the University of Illinois Russian, East European, and Eurasian Center.  Each of these trips have been characterized as a "truly excellent educational experience."

See below for links to information on these trips.

"Perhaps this is Serendipity's greatest gift--facilitating the process by which Americans can peer into another culture, however briefly, and come away with an alternately chilly and snug sense that people everywhere are similar, but also very different--and in ways that can be utterly pleasing and new."

(Professor Campbell has completed two intensive Russian programs with Serendipity-Russia.)
